Job Responsibilities

Join our team. Our Agency's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Oconee County Clinic, 115 Carter Park Drive, Seneca, SC 29678 of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center, 200 McGee Road, Anderson, SC 29625.

As an Administrative Specialist II, performs duties in the Billing Department that include but not limited to the following:

1. Process insurance billing electronically and manually when needed. Using eMedix, remits will be downloaded and saved, payments posted and balance. Rejections are resolved as each remit is posted and completed. Insurance information is updated, and services are transferred according to correct patient payer information as needed.

2. Prints and reviews assigned outstanding insurance claims reports on a weekly basis. Claims are researched to resolve any issues with insurance, updating systems as needed.

3. Monitors EMedix on a daily basis, clearing any error or rejected claims.

4. Assist with annual Debt Set-Off.

5. Provide assistance and backup to other areas of the Billing Department. Will receive cross-training on the duties required to provide assistance and support.

6. Performs other job duties as required to include completing assigned trainings.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirement: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

Agency Requirements: A high school diploma and two years of clerical experience; or an associate degree in secretarial science of other related field, or three years clerical experience.

Center Additional Preferred: Experience with Excel.
