JOB SUMMARY:

The Utah Hockey Club is excited to offer an internship opportunity for a Social Media Intern to help enhance our online presence and engage with our fan base. This role is perfect for someone passionate about hockey and social media, looking to gain hands-on experience in content creation and management within a professional sports environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Content Creation:

Develop and design engaging content tailored for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. This includes creating videos, and written posts that align with the Utah Hockey Club's brand and message.Assists Social Media Coordinator:

Support the Social Media Coordinator with tasks related to uploading, copywriting, scheduling, and publishing content across all social media channels. Ensure that all content is posted accurately and on schedule. Aids in community management strategy across all channels.Conceptualizes New Content Ideas:

Generate fresh and innovative content ideas to be used throughout the hockey season. Stay proactive in suggesting creative approaches to enhance our social media strategy and engage our audience. Is eager to test and learn while iterating on new ideas.Photo and Video Shooting

: Assist with shooting high-quality photos and videos during games, events, and other team activities to be used in social media content.Social Media Management:

Monitor social media interactions, respond to comments and messages, and maintain a consistent and professional online presence.Analytics and Reporting:

Track social media performance metrics and provide insights on engagement, reach, and effectiveness of various campaigns on a per-platform basis. Assist in preparing regular reports to measure success and identify areas for improvement, tracking against other NHL and professional sports teams.Event Promotion:

Aid in promoting team events, games, and special initiatives through targeted social media campaigns to boost visibility and engagement.Research and Trends:

Stay current with the latest social media trends and best practices. Apply this knowledge to optimize our social media content and strategy.Collaboration:

Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or a recent graduate.Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Creative mindset with the ability to generate and implement new content ideas.Basic photo and video shooting skills preferred, with proficiency in editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) a plus.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Flexibility to assist the content team, including evenings and weekends, and a proactive, hands-on approach to tasks.Passion for hockey and a general understanding of the sport is beneficial.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
