Usually performing their duties in a utility capacity, the Laborer position entails working on construction projects, often transferring from one task to another whenever the situation requires.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policiesAcquires tools needed for daily operationsMeasures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight lineBolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under formsSignals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specificationsLevels earth to fine grade specificationsPaving Duties:
Assists with pre-run markingsUses a paving lute to fine grade before roller man compactsOperates vibratory plate as neededShovels asphalt as requiredDirect traffic around work area as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR One month of related experience and/or trainingStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsProblem solvingAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Skills, Education, and ExperienceExperience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, quarries, or heavy manufacturing
Experience in paving and asphalt manufacturing strongly preferred
OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
Physical DemandsRegularly required to
StandUse hands to finger, handle, or feelReach with hands and arms

WalkLift and/or move up to 100 pounds
