Senior Backend Engineer (Onboarding Risk)

Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech CompanyAt Bill, our onboarding risk team is at the forefront of building key components for our risk platform to support our payment business. We work collaboratively with peer developers, product managers, designers, architects, data scientists, and various business partners to define and develop low-friction, high-precision fraud detection systems that protect our customers and vendors.We are seeking a strong, passionate engineer to join our team. In this role, you will enhance our platform and protect our customers from potential fraud, which is critical to the livelihood of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), while also unlocking revenue growth.We’d love to chat if you have:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering, including building enterprise platforms.Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and a bias towards actionProven experience in leading the design and implementation of scalable SaaS applications in Java. Experience with AWS or equivalent services is preferred.Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale, high-volume, high-availability, low-latency systems.Demonstrated experience in the payment industry or in developing fraud detection applications.Proficiency in version control, code reviews, testing, and deployment automation.Ability to mentor and guide other engineers in best practices and advanced technical concepts.Nice to Have : Experience in front-end or full-stack development.
