Job Summary
Overseeing nearly 500 team members and managing a budget of approximately $70 million, this role offers leadership, vision, and strategic guidance for the Operations enterprises. The individual in this role is accountable for formulating strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with Synovus' corporate strategy and objectives, integrating continuous process improvement, automation, and innovation. The position necessitates collaboration with stakeholders across related business functions to devise and execute plans for system operations, process management, and personnel oversight. The goal is to structure these elements for efficiency, automation, innovative practices, and alignment with business strategy in the most effective manner. The individual is also responsible for identifying, mitigating and monitoring all operational risks within the Operational area. This is an on-site position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Works in conjunction with the EVP, Technology, Operations, Security to develop and lead the execution of an effective corporate strategy for operations with a focus on exceeding customer service and productivity expectations, metric driven solutions and optimal results.
Defines, communicates and implements a best in class operations value model. Partners with other executive leaders across the enterprise to ensure synergy at all levels, with all stakeholders regarding risk, efficiency and effectives, and resources.
Develops and leads the execution of an effective corporate strategy for Operations, simultaneously increasing profits, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Partners with line-of-business executives across the enterprise to ensure synergy at all levels and with all stakeholders regarding risk, operational efficiency and resources.
Collaborates with senior management to develop and design key performance indicators, guidelines, work practices, standard operating procedures, service levels, and other performance metrics. Suggests initiatives to decrease costs, enhance service levels, and better the work environment. Upholds the delivery of expected service levels, and takes responsibility for the overall fulfillment of the agreed SLA for Operations.
Leads the enhancement of operational systems, processes and policies in support of management reporting, information flow and management, business processes and organizational planning. Oversees the Identification of appropriate technology systems and solutions.
Liaises with other cross functional leadership teams whose support is critical to ensure service, quality and other company wide goals are attained. Works closely with executive management team to ensure effective inter-departmental communication.
Employs established methods or techniques to the analysis of financial data. Uses knowledge of financial data, including history, strengths, and weaknesses, to evaluate potential solutions to situations. Oversees and monitors business plans to ensure the attainment of financial goals.
Builds diverse, high-performing teams that accomplish organizational changes, goals, and priorities. Ensures strategies, change initiatives, and competitive information are communicated in clear and compelling ways. Promote, encourage and facilitate cross-training within the departments, guaranteeing that team members are comprehensively skilled in the necessary areas.
Promotes ethics and compliance; builds and sustains an environment where adherence to and reinforcement of the highest standards of integrity and ethics are the norm. Identifies opportunities and takes action to enhance compliance within own organization. Ensures leaders receive the communication and instruction needed to act in accordance with policies and procedures.
Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
Fifteen years of experience in the banking industry leading high-performance teams of over 500 team-members and managing budgets of over 50 million dollars.

In depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and managerial best practices
Strong business planning, analytical, and conceptual skills
Ability to build effective, data driven executive level presentations, summarizing complex issues to highlight key takeaways
