ResponsibilitiesHighlights of Responsibilities:
Financial Statement preparation and owner
Key owner of GL financial system (Costpoint today and transitioning to Unanet)
Key partner to Treasury function
Lead a team of approximately 8-10 employees including responsibility for Payroll, AP, AR, Billing, Banking & Treasury, GL, & Technical Accounting
Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
Key partnership with finance organization for teaming on consolidation of actuals and forecast
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments
Audit, Tax and Government compliance lead
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies
Review/update internal controls, and maintain oversight over G/L data
Develop and implement policies/procedures for master data maintenance (i.e. G/L account, profit center, cost center)
Automate master data maintenance requests and approval workflows
Seek out and continue to look for ways that G/L and closing processes can be automated or improved to create and improve efficiency across the accounting/finance organization
Develop and implement policies and procedures for balance sheet account reconciliations and ongoing monitoring and governance
Drive results to meet individual, team, and department objectives
Performs other accounting related duties as assigned by management.
Collaborates with others on special projects.
Identifies potential areas for improvement and provides solutions.
QualificationsRequirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience
15+ years of experience
Experience in a large government contracting company
Costpoint and/or Unanet experience
Leadership of a team of 5 or more
Experience working in a Private Equity environment is critical
CPA
Strong analytical skills, research skills, and business acumen
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter with proven ability to spearhead projects with minimal supervision
Comfort working through ambiguity and in a rapidly changing environment
Strong communication skills
