Senior Underwriter - Environmental

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Underwriter or Sr. Underwriter to join the Environmental division. The Underwriter is responsible for the day-to-day management of a book of environmental liability as well as mentoring junior staff.Underwriters are expected to solicit, select or reject submissions and price a wide variety of environmental policies appropriately. Underwriters also administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.Location:

Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ, Remote/HybridSalary range:

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00Essential Functions:Effectually identify, market, and underwrite prospective accounts in targeted industries.Direct and supervise underwriting activities as the need arises to produce positive profit and expense results within area of responsibility.Develop positive relationships with Brokers and effectively articulate DUAL's appetite.Solicit, review, and coordinate new business opportunities with brokers.Underwrite both new and renewal business.Exhibit high levels of collaboration, leadership, customer service, and persistence.Provide strong analytical ability and sound judgment to make informed and accurate decisions.Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):Bachelor’s degree required.3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Lines underwriting environment or same in an Environmental business setting.3 or more years’ underwriting Environmental Lines.Strong negotiation and presentation skills.Self-motivated individual.Outstanding marketing skills.Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment.Business development skills evidencing a successful track record driving profitable growth.Strong interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.The ability to demonstrate critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills.The ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time is anticipated.Continuing education, professional designations, or related P&C licensing in insurance underwriting are preferred.If you do not meet all the qualifications for this role, we still encourage you to apply, as we are always looking for diverse talent to join our growing team.What we offer:A career that you define.
