Attending Physician – Outpatient Pediatric ClinicLa Rabida Children’s Hospital is hiring for an Attending Physician for our Pediatric Outpatient Clinic in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:This is a full-time physician role to provide pediatric primary care in the outpatient setting.

Essential Job Functions:

Utilizes knowledge, skill, and expertise in pediatrics to provide ongoing primary care (via in-person and telehealth) to a panel of patients.

Collaborates with the family, (patient, if appropriate) and the La Rabida team to provide high-quality family-centered primary care.

Clinical workload will consist of a designated or agreed-upon number of clinic sessions per week, one of which will be an evening and/or a Saturday morning.

Additional Functions as Needed:

Provides services related to health maintenance and promotion.

Orders and conducts timely follow-up on laboratory and radiologic tests.

Performs other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated.

Prescribes medications as appropriate.

Consults and/or refers patients to licensed physicians or other health care providers as indicated.

Reviews laboratory results, consultant examinations, and emergency room dispositions and follows up on those requiring intervention.

Documents all findings concisely and completely utilizing the electronic medical records system, ensuring all entries are dated and signed within 72 hours of the patient visit.

Stays current with evidence-based practice and standards of practice.

Serves as a resource and consultant for other providers, nurses, and staff members within the hospital.

Assists in the education of patients, nurses, and other clinical team members.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Competency Assessments:Maintains required job skills, professional competencies, current licensure, certification, and ongoing education required of the job, as applicable. Supports the hospital mission and observes hospital core job values with respect to Service Excellence Standards, work quality, productivity, teamwork, and initiative.

Qualifications:

Education: Holds a State of Illinois licensure and is eligible for appointment to the La Rabida medical staff. Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics.

Related Work Experience: Completed pediatric residency training.

Licensure/Certification: Current Illinois Physician license and DEA license.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated knowledge and expertise in pediatrics. Active membership in appropriate professional organizations. The ability to speak Spanish is desirable.

CPR Required: Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association, or the American Red Cross will be accepted.
