Whatever your role and whatever expertise you bring, we are dedicated to helping you achieve your full potential in an environment of respect, innovation, and teamwork.Position Summary:The RN, Registered Nurse 12-Hr provides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Float Unit at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:Safety and risk managementAssess patientsDevelops a written plan of care using assessment databaseImplements patient careEvaluates and revises patient careStaff developmentCollaboration and working with othersInterpersonal relationships and communicationUnit, department, and hospital contributionsPerformance appraisalWorking responsibilitiesCustomer servicesSkills RosterMinimum Requirements/Work Experience:Minimum of 2 years Critical Care Acute Care hospital experience or 5 years ICU Long Term Facility experienceCompletion of pre-employment drug screening.Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check.Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health.Additional Certifications - required within 6 months of hire (or transfer into) department.Education / Licensure / Certification - Required Prior to Patient Care Assignment:BSN required unless waived by nurse executive council review.Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California.Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all areas.Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation.Graduated from an accredited nursing program unless otherwise approved by the Nursing Executive Council (NEC).A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) & ACLS certification are also required.Current NIHSS Certificate required.
