Summary:

The Spiritual Care Director plays an integral role in the success of our team and community; creating a place our residents are proud to call home. You will be responsible for providing unparalleled service to our residents.

The Spiritual Care Director provides compassionate and holistic spiritual care for our residents. The Spiritual Care Director creates and hosts programs of a spiritual and religious nature to support the individual needs of each resident of faith or otherwise. Your goal is to help each resident have the best day they can possibly have, every day.

Shift:Full-time | Sunday - Thursday 8am - 5pm | On-Call as needed

Essential Job Functions:

Connect, establish, and maintain relationships with residents in support of their spiritual lives.

Responsible for conducting and documenting timely spiritual assessments on residents as appropriate.

Initiate spiritual care plan as needed and document progress in the electronic health record.

Organize worship services, life celebrations and religious holiday programs in creative and ecumenical ways.

Create, and set up spiritual care programs, and communicate scheduled times with Life Enrichment for inclusion in monthly calendar.

Connect, establish, and maintain relationships with local spiritual organizations, and their corresponding leaders.

Recruit and support volunteers who host spiritual care programs with recommended content and needed materials.

Performs other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Critical Skills:

Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.

Communicate in English with team members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.

Capable of working with and around ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree and Graduate Level Theological Degree (or equivalent) preferred.

Two or more years of experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care, spiritual direction or counseling setting.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Prefer previous work experience with the aging population.
