Job Title : Veterinary SurgeonSalary : £60,000 (dependent on experience)Location : Greenside, St BoswellsJob Type : PermanentHours : Full-time 4 day working week (Working two days until 5.15 pm & two until 7.15 pm)We welcome discussions regarding the ideal rota for you and can be flexible.Your role and responsibilitiesThe right candidate for the role will be an enthusiastic, friendly Companion Animal and Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon, with good communication skills. We take a fair share of ops and consulting but with preferences and special interests well understood and encouraged. We have a very open and honest management style and encourage regular feedback from our associates to get the very best working environment for everyone.Greenside Vets is a mixed practice with a solid farm base and an ever-expanding quality companion animal. The role will be primarily small animal but with farm on-call component. Our main site is well equipped including; a DR x-ray, new ultrasound, dental x-ray, bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, and multi-parameters. We have a growing orthopaedic caseload and perform some more advanced soft tissue procedures in-house too.Our purpose-built Large Animal unit includes two Easi-scan ultrasound scanners, bull and tup fertility testing equipment and in-house hospitalisation facilities including a calf warmer alongside all the usual equipment. Our large animal caseload does not include equine and is mainly beef and sheep with minimal dairy work, some camelids and goats are seen too. We have pool cars meaning no smells in your own vehicle!Our out-of-hours work is well supported with a dedicated nurse on call with the vet to assist where required. Our nurses expect to be called in!
