Finance Data and Digital Office (FDDO) was established in 2021 as a new global department in Finance division to centralise and manage Finance data, reporting and analytics. It was set up with the vision to inspire people across the firm through the power of data and reporting, creative minds and innovative technologies.The FDDO centralizes data and reporting across Finance and enriches with digital tools, optimized processes, enhanced capabilities and meaningful insights to drive value to the function and wider business.FDDO comprises of Data FDDO, Reporting FDDO and Quality Assurance and Control.The Data FDDO is a shared capability performing data related activities to meet Finance needs for the Reporting FDDO, Global Functions and Regional Finance. The Data FDDO is the Finance Data Steward, centralising and standardising data reconciliations and adjustments, which are currently performed repetitively across all regions and functions. (business data coordinator)Global cross-functional role supporting Nomura Finance’s alignment to Data Management Frameworks such as BCBS 239 principles NEHS/NHA Data Governance (standards on data governance, quality, infrastructure and reporting)Lead a team of bright data management professionalsCurate, review and update necessary policies, procedures and documents to demonstrate compliance and highlight actual/potential gaps thus identified.Represent Finance in various forums and teams - Group Data Office, Risk, Operations, regional Business Data Coordinators, various Project execution teams, IT stakeholders, etc.Create purposeful MI/presentation material that highlights key KRI/KPI from a data quality/governance point of viewWork with SPOCs/SMEs to document data artefacts i.e. DSLA, Data LineageResolve queries and adhoc requests from SMEs and other Business FunctionsDeep Dive Analysis of the Data Quality Issues raised by the line functions (Treasury, Financial Control, etc.), propose Tactical and Strategic solution and engage with the respective data stewards, IT, SMEs and others for the resolution.Review and reduce the number of reconciliations and adjustments done by the Data teams within Finance.Work with SMEs across the globe to understand data challenges and implement strategic solutions to address thoseWork with Upstream data stewards and Finance data consumers to drive data transformation and build data stewardship model with proper control frameworkEstablish and strengthen Data Stewardship model for Finance Stewarded dataCoordinate with System owners, Finance SMEs, Group Data Office for different aspects related to dataExpected to manage external & internal fire-drill exercise with GDO/other business functions under Stressed scenarios.Under Stressed situation on production, Finance BDO is expected as central point to coordinate between upstream senior stakeholders and Finance senior managementJapanese Language Expertise will be an added advantageLead / support Data related projects, migrations and initiatives.Support Internal/External/Regulatory Audits pertaining to data governance and data qualityMind Set:
