is seeking an experienced

Interim Director of Nursing

for its 50-bed long-term care bed unit to manage the long-term unit and assist in training a permanent Director of Nursing.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; postgraduate study and/or experience in geriatrics is desirable

Must be licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Wisconsin

Must possess competence in supervision, leadership, and communication skills

Must have the ability to plan, develop and implement nursing policies

Must be organized, self-motivated, and have the ability to work independently

Must be able to make decisions in emergencies

Ability to read and write in English

Ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel and support agencies

Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions

Must understand the legal aspects of nursing under the nurse practice act of the State of Wisconsin

Must be physically able to lift to a maximum of 30 lbs with frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 10 lbs

Must be able to stand or walk 4-6 hours in an 8-hour day

Essential Job Functions (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):

Oversight and directing the nursing department, including developing and implementing new policies and procedures

Stays current with upcoming federal and state regulatory changes

Ensure a staff development program is in place to support regulatory and clinical competency needs

Direct resident care to promote best practice outcomes

Supervise all nursing personnel, including hiring and discipline

Assist in orientation and training of all nursing personnel

Be subject to call, and carry cellphone, on an as needed basis

Oversee scheduling of all nursing personnel to ensure appropriate staff coverage

Schedules and directs regular meetings for professional nurses and nursing assistants

Oversight of infection control program and compliance

Fosters a culture of continuous quality improvement

Collaborate with Medical Director and other key resources

Works with administrator to support development and implementation of the nursing department budget

Any and all other duties assigned by Administrator for the purpose of quality resident care
