By emphasizing cutting-edge and transformational research along with a commitment to the success of all students, UIC embodies the dynamic, vibrant and engaged urban university.Description:A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Coloff in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The Coloff Lab studies the unique metabolic phenotypes found in tumors with the goal of identifying new strategies of targeting metabolism for cancer therapy. Current projects include developing methods of targeting serine metabolism in cancer and understanding how nutrients are utilized by cancer cells to promote therapeutic resistance. We are seeking creative, independent scientists with experience in any area of metabolism research, but those with experience in lipid metabolism are especially encouraged to apply.The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in biology or a related field.
