Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Lead Histologist for a direct hire position at a premier clinical diagnostics company in San Diego, CA. $40+/hourSchedule:
Tuesday-Saturday from 12:00 pm - 8:30 pmResponsibilities:Receive, process, and prepare patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the pathologist.Perform all aspects of microtomy, including cutting, sample capture, sample return, mounting, and staining procedures.Ensure compliance with state and national regulatory agencies.Interface with other departments, including laboratory, Pre-Analytical, and the pathologist.Assist with administrative duties as assigned.Produce the highest quality of microtomy and H&E staining.Prepare microscopic slides on human tissue for research/diagnostic purposes, including embedding, microtomy, and mounting paraffin processed tissue.Process specimen accessioning, including all manual and computerized data entry.Perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by a pathologist(s) according to established SOPs.Perform sample capture for submitting samples to Molecular.Train new and existing employees on histology tasks.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and Certification: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)
