Position Overview:

The Director of Outpatient Services will oversee both the operations and service delivery for all Outpatient Services, School-Based Counseling Partnership Program, Congregational and Community Partnerships, and Telehealth Clinics. You will collaborate with the Senior Director of Psychological Services, CEO, and other leaders to develop and implement strategies for service continuation and growth in line with our strategic plan. Additionally, you will provide clinical supervision and evaluation of Outpatient Services managers, therapists, and interns. This role is expected to balance a small clinical caseload while providing oversight of clinic operational issues. You will play a big part in ensuring our Outpatient Services continue to meet our organization’s strategic goals.

What You Will Be Doing:

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental health issues with an average of 5 billable hours per week; conduct therapy sessions in-person or remotely; and refer clients to community resources or specialists as needed. Develop and implement treatment plans with measurable goals, while documenting all clinical activities per department policies and state regulations.

Provide oversight, mentorship, and direction to clinical supervisors in outpatient clinics to ensure clinical excellence, maintain quality care, adherence to policies, and budget management.

Work with the Senior Director of Research to ensure consistent use of outcomes measurement tools by clinicians and supervisors.

Oversee outpatient Program Managers and Leads to ensure consistent business operations, identify issues, and implement solutions.

Provide regular clinical supervision and case consultations with outpatient clinical staff; ensure weekly supervision of non-licensed therapists and new hires is being met.

Conduct monthly reviews of clinical procedures to ensure evidence-based treatment interventions, and provide feedback to staff.

Collaborate with Human Resources to hire, train, and manage performance for assigned staff; ensure annual performance appraisals are being conducted.

Establish and maintain a quality assurance and peer review program to ensure high-quality service and outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

A minimum of Master’s degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or closely related field.

Five years of experience as a fully licensed counselor or social worker required.

Five years of management and/or clinical supervision experience preferred.

Licensed Professional Counselor under practicing state statutes in both Wisconsin and Minnesota, and able to be certified for third-party reimbursement.

Must be certified or willing to obtain certification as a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH).

Member in good standing with a WELS/ELS or confessional Lutheran church.

Possess sound therapeutic and clinical skills and knowledge of principles of human behavior, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Sound managerial and supervisory skills including active listening, speaking, social perception, service orientation, complex problem solving, monitoring, judgement and decision-making skills.

Ability to maintain strict client and program confidentiality, function positively in an environment of limited resources, and relate well with a diverse group of people, including staff and the public.

Understanding of business operations systems, practices, and financial analysis, with proficiency in computer skills, especially Outlook, Word, and relevant clinical software.

Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws including HIPAA, duty to warn, and reporting requirements related to alleged abuse/neglect.

Valid state driver’s license with clear driving record and proof of insurance.

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and work the hours required based on business conditions and needs of the client, while meeting clinical and billable goals as assigned.
