The role will be responsible for writing profitable business within established guidelines, management of various relationships, and underwriting of risks. The ideal candidate will be able to function independently and think creatively.We are looking for individuals who are eager to add their unique value to the team. While working with the industry’s leading wholesalers, our Senior Underwriters are focused on business results and the overall financial health of the program/s they support. As a Senior Underwriter, you will have the opportunity to grow your career with the largest independent wholesale insurance broker and general agency in the U.S. insurance industry.ResponsibilitiesManage book of business including underwriting new business and maintaining renewal ratios.Market products to wholesale brokers through e-mail, phone calls, and personal visits.Assist team members by answering questions they might have regarding department procedures and coverage issues.Assist in the training and development of team members.Guide and direct underwriting assistants.Assist with program build out.May supervise projects or teams of 2-5 people.Qualifications7+ years of relevant underwriting experience with a focus on Construction risks (ability to write both primary and excess lines).Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Word and Excel.To the qualified candidate we offerA salary commensurate with experience and an annual bonus structure.A broad benefits package available, with eligibility starting the first day of employment, including:
