About The OpportunityJOB SUMMARY:The Operations Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the John Martinson Honors Program including general administrative operations. This individual will oversee the execution of multiple management tasks for the program including hiring, training, and supervising student employees, budget management, updating student records, and program operations. The Coordinator plays an integral role in the John Martinson Honors Program and supports initiatives such as Orientation, Honors & Welcome Week activities, graduation recognition programs, and others as needed.Responsibilities IncludeProvide an array of technical support activities that require subject matter knowledge to administer the program in an efficient, effective manner (e.g. communications, recordkeeping, reports, etc.)Serve as a first point of contact for the program with related tasks such as: reviewing inquiries, determining course of action to take, and completing, delegating, and/or escalating to the person best able to address the problem.Support the budget administration with forecasting, identification and resolution of budget related issues, maintaining expense controls, reviewing monthly expenditures and projections, ensuring appropriateness and accuracy of expenditures against guidelines.Liaise with the Office of the Registrar, Student Financial Services, and other university offices to ensure accurate course and student records and attributes. Supports review and processing of student funding awards related to the John Martinson Honors program.Assist in the ongoing evaluation of the program’s workflows, design, and documentation to ensure it is administered effectively and efficiently; makes minor improvements of processes, procedures, or systems. Partners with the Education Innovation Operations Team to elevate organization efficiency.Oversee services with vendors and resolve outstanding issues.Minimum QualificationsPlanning/organizational skills and project management skills.Critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, attention to detail, diligence and communication skills.Ability to explain and clarify complex information as well as to influence others to reach agreement. Knowledge of finance, budgets, and administration.Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment including MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.Two to four years’ experience, preferably in a university setting.Position TypeGeneral AdministrationAdditional InformationNortheastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.
