Position Description:

LCG is hiring for a Senior Systems Administrator specializing in Windows environments. This role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining Windows-based server infrastructure, ensuring system performance, security, and high availability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation, virtualization, and troubleshooting within enterprise-level IT environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of Windows Server environments, supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure and operations.

Lead projects and work independently with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality results and comprehensive documentation.

Responsible for analyzing network performance issues and ensuring systems are running at peak performance.

Address and resolve complex issues related to Windows Server environments.

Perform regular system patching and updates to enhance security and performance.

Manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) to implement security and operational policies.

Configure and maintain monitoring tools, including setting up new monitors and adjusting existing ones to ensure system reliability.

Document systems, processes, and configurations thoroughly.

Apply networking concepts to ensure seamless server system integration and performance.

Comfortable with managing virtual machines in both VMware and Nutanix.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience with Windows Server, including installation, troubleshooting, and patching.

Demonstrated expertise in GPO management (creating, configuring, deploying, and maintaining policies within an Active Directory domain).

Experience with network monitoring tools, including setup and reconfiguration of monitors.

Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

Solid understanding of networking concepts.

Proven experience with VMware and Nutanix.

Ability to lead projects effectively and work independently with minimal oversight.

(Desired) Experience with cloud migration projects.

(Desired) Knowledge of SAML/SSO configuration.

Certifications: VMware vSphere 8.x Professional or Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI).

Compensation and Benefits:

The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $145,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $135,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
