Addison Group seeks a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our client in the West San Gabriel Valley area.
Job
- The hired Senior Corporate Accountant will support the accounting department in many functions including Property Accounting, Lease Accounting, Real Estate Development, Real Estate Transactions, Investment Accounting, SEC Financial Reporting, Treasury, Fixed Assets, Amenities, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. You will report to a VP of Accounting.

Compensation/Benefits
– Salary range is $90,000/year to $115,000/year. The company’s benefits package includes 100% paid health insurance for employees AND enrolled dependents, complimentary food, and a generous 401(k) plan.
SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT DUTIES
Property Accounting
Prepare balance sheet and P&L account analysis
Perform monthly account and bank reconciliations
Record monthly journal entries
Prepare Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and journal entries
Manage relevant month and quarter end closes, including investment accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transfers
Lease Accounting
Prepare rent calculations
Prepare tenant statements
Financial Reporting
Prepare and oversee SEC filings, including 10Q/10K and quarterly supplemental reporting
Audit
Assist in all matters SOX
Assist in all internal and external audits
Miscellaneous
Assist the Fixed Assets, Treasury, AP, AR, and Amenities teams in any accounting tasks
Assist in any process improvement initiatives, and system implementations if needed
Assist on any technical research matters
Accept other ad hoc duties as needed
SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS
Required
At least three (3) years of substantive accounting experience in a corporate and/or public setting
Real estate industry experience in either public accounting or corporate accounting
Bachelors in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus or equivalent work experience
Preferred
A CPA (active or inactive)
At least two (2) years of public accounting experience
SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT SKILLS
Required
Technical
Expert-Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)
Comprehension of US GAAP accounting regulations
Personal
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to multi-task
Detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain accounting concepts to non-accounting professionals
Preferred
Technical
Expert-Level experience in an ERP program (JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP)
Expert-Level experience in a Real Estate-oriented program (MR1, Timberline, Yardi)
Expert-Level experience in financial programs such as Hyperion Financial Management
