The employee shall support Miller's Children & Women's Hospital strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.The RN, Registered Nurse 12-Hr provides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:Safety and risk management. 5%Assesses patients. 15%Develops a written plan of care using assessment database. 15%Implements patient care. 15%Evaluates and revises patient care. 15%Staff Development. 5%Collaboration and Working with Others. 5%Interpersonal relationships and communication. 5%Unit, department, and hospital contributions. 5%Performance appraisal. 5%Working responsibilities. 5%Customer Service. 5%Skills Roster. 5%*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. for more information about our Benefits and Rewards.Minimum RequirementsQualifications/Work Experience:Completion of pre-employment drug screening.Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check.Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health.The RN must be able to comply with every other weekend work commitment as well as be available to work and be scheduled any day of the week.One (1) year minimum experience in a pediatric hospital highly preferred.The ideal candidate
will have one (1) year minimum nursing experience in a Pediatric Oncology/Hematology unit within an acute care hospital.Education/Licensure/Certification:Current CA RN licenseBSN degree required or experienced RN in an accredited BSN program.Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.The ideal candidate
will be APHON Biotherapy/Chemotherapy certified or ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider certified.
