Tier I Tech Support Specialist .Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you get to help others? Are you passionate about technology and enjoy simplifying problems? If so, then Holton-Arms School Tier I Tech Support Specialist role might be perfect for you! In this role, you'll be the first line of defense for our school community, providing technical support to students, staff, and faculty across all grade levels (3-12). Our user base has a wide range of technical proficiency, so your ability to explain things clearly and patiently will be a huge asset. We are hoping to add to our collaborative and dynamic Technology Information and Libraries team. This is a 12 month, full-time, in-person position in a K-12 Independent School setting.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting:
You'll be fielding questions and resolving basic user issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. This might involve password resets, printer setup, software installation, and basic troubleshooting steps both in and outside the classroom.Communication:
Excellent communication is key! You'll need to actively listen to user concerns, ask clarifying questions, and explain technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way.Documentation:
You'll likely be logging user issues and resolutions in a ticketing system to track progress and aid future reference.Additional Duties (May Vary)Maintaining an accurate inventory of existing hardware.Basic installation or configuration of equipment (ability to lift 25lbs).Assist with classroom technology setup and maintenance, including interactive whiteboards, projectors, and other instructional tools.Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure seamless integration and support of new technologies and systems.Provide user training on specific software or school procedures.Participate in technology planning and implementation projects.Skills and QualificationsStrong customer service skills with a patient and helpful demeanor.Excellent communication and active listening abilities.Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new things.Basic proficiency in using a computer and common software programs including but not limited to:Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Meet, etc.)Microsoft Windows 11 / Mac OSX / Apple iOS / AndroidEdTech Software and Tools (Canvas LMS, Veracross SIS, etc.)Ability to problem-solve and think logically.Additional Skills and Qualifications (Preferred but not required):Previous experience in a help desk or technical support role, particularly in an educational setting.Certifications related to IT support (e.g., CompTIA A+, Google IT Support Professional Certificate).Familiarity with assistive technology tools and solutions for students.Experience with video conferencing tools, virtual classrooms, and remote employee support (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).We offer a comprehensive benefits package with a competitive salary.Diversity, Equity, and InclusionHolton-Arms cherishes the uniqueness of each of our members including current and former students, faculty, and staff.
