Job Description - Postdoctoral Scholar - Department of Pharmacology, Addiction Science and Toxicology (24000001EP)A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study lipid/alcohol regulation of calcium- and voltage-gated, big conductance potassium (BK) channels in native tissues (cerebrovascular myocytes, brain neurons) and heterologous systems (mammalian cell cultures, Xenopus oocytes, and artificial planar lipid bilayers) expressing engineered BK channel subunits. Representative papers from our group: Nat Commun. (2023) 14:7248; J. Biol Chem. (2021) 296:100381; JPET (2018) 367:234; J Gen Physiol. (2016) 148:419; PNAS (2014) 111:9313.Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physiology or Neuroscience. Documented proficiency, i.e., doctoral thesis or peer-reviewed, original research article publication(s) as first author using patch-clamp or bilayer electrophysiology on the study of outwardly rectifying K+ channels, preferentially BK channels, is absolutely required. Expertise in gating model analysis at single channel or whole-cell current resolution is highly desired.All candidates must apply online at
