Who We Are:
Division IT support team for Boulder operations.Objectives of this Role:
Provide Linux system administration skills in support of an environment that is covered by the NIST 800-171 controls.Provide occasional end-user support for Windows or MacOS users.Build and maintain Linux servers using FIPS-compliant services.Provide end-user support for these services.Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain local and AWS-based servers.Be part of an on-site team that proactively maintains and develops Linux infrastructure to support a 24x7x365 uptime service that includes research scientists and science and mission operations for various NASA spacecraft missions.Maintain/patch systems and resolve security issues within a federal research environment.Support and actively participate in audits. Utilize ticketing system to log system administration actions and collaborate with other IT staff in resolving issues.Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent or a Bachelors degree in Information Technology.Bachelors degreed candidates must have at least 6 years of directly related experience; those without a Bachelors require at least 10 years of experience.6/10 years: Experience in Linux systems administration, within a NIST 800-171 environment or ability to learn NIST requirements.Experience with servers and networking.Experience with Apache HTTP, LVM, clustered filesystems, DRBD, high availability computing.Formal knowledge (employment experience) of Linux required, with RedHat Enterprise Linux/CentOS specific experience or ability to learn RedHat.Special Requirements:
Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado. Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.Job Locations:
