Seeking a Business Analyst with experience and good knowledge in the Insurance industry.
Experience Requirements:Experience in managing or supporting IT projects, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under tight deadlines.Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Trello) and methodologies.Leading requirements sessions to gather business requirements; then documenting requirements, helping create use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria.Assist with test traceability matrix to ensure all requirements are covered.Ability to participate in the creation of management status presentations.
Analytical Skills:Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and analytically.Ability to perform data analysis and interpret complex datasets to inform business decisions.Ability to weigh business requirements and current/future technical landscape to offer appropriate project scope and solutions.
Interpersonal/Communication Skills:Ability and willingness to collaborate with business/project SMEs to gain industry and company knowledge.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Strong presentation skills and the ability to create clear, concise reports and documentation.Experience in facilitating meetings and workshops with diverse stakeholders.
Technical Skills/Tools:Proficiency in software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) and tools such as Visio or similar.Proficiency with standard Microsoft tools for documentation.Understanding of software architecture, design, and implementation.Knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:Gathers, refines, and validates complex business requirements, interdependencies, potential risks, and issues.Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.Assists in the business process design or redesign and documentation as needed.Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications.Facilitates communication and gains commitment between business units to align solutions with business strategies.Develops complex business cases.Works on multiple projects as a project team member, at times as a project leader.May coach and mentor less experienced staff.Assists with facilitating project governance and corporate priorities.Creates business process flow diagrams and swim lanes.
