Finance Director for the City of Moberly

The City of Moberly is accepting applications for the position of Finance Director. This position is the leader of our finance department and reports to the City Manager. The role involves accounting, technical, and administrative work designed to facilitate the ongoing operations and maintenance of the financial records and accounting systems of the City of Moberly. The position supervises two employees directly and leads an organization of six. Responsibilities

Overseeing the accounts payable process.

Managing accounts receivable.

Reviewing budgets, tracking revenues and expenditures, and projecting cash flow.

Overseeing banking activities.

Assisting fellow department heads with financial requirements.

Main contact for audits.

Leading the budgeting process (June 30 fiscal year schedule).

Financial forecasting to assist the City Manager and City Council with financial planning.

Qualifications and Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or another closely related field.

A master’s degree or recognized credential such as CPA or CPFO is attractive for this role.

Strong experience with Microsoft Excel.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience with municipal finance/accounting or 5 years of general accounting background.

Compensation and Benefits

Full-time exempt position.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 annually.

The employee portion of health insurance is paid for by the City. Attractive costs for dependent care coverage are available.

Participation in Missouri LAGERS (Local Government Retirement System), a defined benefit pension program fully paid for by the City. Fully vested within 5 years of service.

The City offers a 457 Deferred Compensation plan for an additional retirement benefit.
