About the Team

As a

Data Scientist III

of the Product Excellence team, you will be a part of the Data Science & Product horizontal within the Walmart US Transformation & Innovation organization. As a part of the PE team, you will be developing, deploying, and managing data-driven and AI-powered capabilities across End2End (E2E) Delivery, Promise, Sourcing, Transportation & Inventory product portfolios with direct impacts to millions of our customers.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science. This is an onsite role based in Bentonville, Arkansas; a full relocation package is available – Remote is NOT an Option.

You relish working with large volumes of data, enjoy the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and, above all else, are passionate about data and analytics.

You are an expert in data modeling, ETL design, and business intelligence tools with the business to identify strategic opportunities where improvements in data infrastructure create outsized business impact.

You excel at architecting scalable and resilient data solutions for real-time and batch processing.

You support the establishment of a MLOps framework to facilitate the ongoing enhancement, testing, and deployment of algorithms.

What you’ll bring…

Experience in building highly scalable Big Data solutions and ETL ecosystems.

Well versed with Hadoop, Spark, Cloud, Python/PySpark, Java, Streaming, Kafka, and Backend technologies.

Experience utilizing public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) to deploy scalable ML solutions efficiently.

Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, Scala) and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn), underpinned by a solid grasp of MLOps practices, including design documentation, testing, and source code management with Git.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 with additional compensation including annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

4 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Data science, machine learning, optimization models.

Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.

Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.

Using open-source frameworks (for example, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Torch).

Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
