To promote family well-being and self-sufficiency through supervision of the Legal Unit within the Prince George’s County Office of Child Support. Supervise staff responsible for performing locate and enforcement functions. This position may also require the demonstration of skill in fact-finding and analysis in support to the Special Counsel for the agency and the preparation of appropriate legal documents. The incumbent motivates employees to achieve high performance in a positive workplace that fosters diversity, innovation, initiative, open and honest communication, and teamwork. Develop and implement local procedures to comply with Federal, State and local laws, policies and procedures. The individual must process effective written and oral communication skills.POSITION DUTIES:Develops and implements procedures to meet the goals of the Child Support program; ensures Legal Assistants and assigned support staff have professional plans for quality work performance; coordinates and monitors the daily activities of Legal Assistants to prioritize workload.Trains, plans, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the work of Legal Assistants.Conducts negotiations and court etiquette training for all staff; complete and compiles accurate hearing stats.Provides customer service to both internal and external customers to meet or exceed the standards set.Supervises the Legal Unit, including performance evaluations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience:

Four years of administrative staff or professional work.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.Two years of experience in Child Support.Two years of experience supervising staff.One year of experience in Court proceedings and/or as a Paralegal.One year of experience with organizational systems such as Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) and the Child Support Management System (CSMS).LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:SELECTION PROCESS:Please make sure that you provide sufficient information on your application to show that you meet the qualifications for this recruitment.
