What We Do

Driving the plug-in power behind Unreal Engine 5. We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services. This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of platform online services as well as Epic’s own online services to build cross-platform online features. Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize.What You'll Do

The Online Applications Group comprises most of Epic's frontend web and mobile application teams. We serve millions of players, creators, and developers every day and build tools used by internal teams across the company. The Developer Portal is the platform where game and application developers can publish their products to the Epic Games Store, download and configure the Epic Online Services SDK, and manage their team's access to Epic’s enterprise tools. We’re looking for a Senior Web Engineer to join the team that works on the Developer Portal project and the backend services that support it. The role is full-stack with a focus on the frontend.In this role, you will

Be one of the technical owners of the Developer Portal UI and backend services, drive and participate in development and maintenance initiatives, establish coding practicesScope out and validate your work together with designers, user-facing teams, and internal stakeholdersCollaborate with other Epic teams on shared projects, for example by writing and reviewing technical documents, and supporting contributors to the Developer Portal codebasesBe a mentor for teammates and peersDirect a team of contractors in development activitiesWhat we're looking for

Deep knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSSExperience architecting, coding, and maintaining web applications with complex user interfaces and multiple contributing development teamsA keen eye for user experience, UI design patterns, and accessibilityFamiliarity with cloud providers, infrastructure-as-code, and authentication/authorization protocolsA candid and respectful communication style that fosters collaboration and professional growthAbility to solicit feedback, evaluate tradeoffs, and own the outcome of problems that have no perfect or obvious solutionA drive for technical excellence, as a means to better user and developer experienceThis role is open to multiple locations in Europe.ABOUT US
