Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX, Pennington, NJ, and Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:Provide an integrated, controlled, ADS to house the data that is used to run and manage GT&OResponsible for development of the Technology ADS Data WarehouseSupport development of the Tech ADSResponsible for a wide range of programming tasks and technologies including Hadoop, Exadata, Python, Sqoop, Spark, Hive, etc.Design, code, test and provide level 2/3 support of the data warehousePartner with the business to ensure requirements are met and collaborate with other functional areas of technology (QA, Production Support) for effective implementationRequirements:7+ years of development experienceExperience working with big data and ecosystem (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, Sqoop, Impala, etc.)Experience with high-level programming languages (Python, Perl, Java, etc.)Experience working with database systems (e.g. Exadata, etc.)Experience working as part of an Agile team and using Agile SDLC tools (Jira, etc.)Ability to partner with other functional areas to ensure execution of development, design, coding, testing, debugging and documenting applicationsAbility to develop awareness of the business function for which the application is being designed to drive out detailed requirements and form effective partnershipsStrong analytical ability, independent problem solving, and good communication skillsDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies and deliver in a fast-paced agile environmentExpert knowledge and experience in software development methodologies and industry practicesExpert understanding and experience with building and deploying enterprise applicationsAbility to work in a matrix environment with minimal supervisionExcellent written, verbal and diagramming skillsExpertise in using PowerPoint and clearly articulating findings/presenting solutionsAbility to lead the team, guide other developers, help with design and write/edit framework scriptsDesired skills:Spark, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Oracle/SQLOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
