The RN will support a team of surgeons across General Surgery, Urology and Colorectal Surgery teams

Responsibilities of the Certified Wound Care Nurse (RN)
Develop and recommend WOC plan of care for patients throughout their post-operative course
Directs agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention, wound care and ostomy care, to include supporting pressure ulcer prevalence data collection, evidence-based policies, procedures, and protocols, and advisement of appropriate support surfaces, products, and staff decision-making algorithms.
Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff regarding the management of complex wounds, fistulas, moisture management, and pressure ulcers
Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs in respect to wound and ostomy care
Requirements for the Certified Wound Care Nurse (RN)
RN Active License State of Georgia
Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program
Current Wound, Ostomy and Continence Certification
Minimum five (5) years of total nursing experience
Minimum two (2) years of recent WOC nursing experience
Current BLS certification
Outpatient experience is a plus!
Self-directed, independent thinker who possesses a high level of autonomy and flexibility
