The YMCA Springfield Meadows is a long-standing child-development center that has been in the Vancouver community for over 17 years.

Job Responsibilities:

The Site Director is responsible for hiring and supervising program staff, maintaining all licensing standards, managing aspects of a budget including ordering required supplies, and communicating with parents and building relationships within our community.

Requirements:

Must have 45 Early Education Credits (ECEs) on transcript

Must have experience processing DCYF monthly Invoice

Must pass YMCA background check

DCYF portable background check

2 years experience working with children and parents, as a teacher in any age group, and 6 months experience in administration management.

Infant and Adult basic First Aid/CPR & BBP certification or the ability to acquire within 60 days

Must have TB Test prior to start working

Food handlers' card

Have an ECE state certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by the department of DCYF

30 basic stars hours or education equivalent acquired within 90 days

Experience with financial processes and understanding of subsidy billing, and enrollment processes & procedures

Experience with supervising diverse staff

Safe sleep certificate through the DCYF student portal

Families experiencing homelessness certificate through the DCYF student portal

Medication Management certificate through the DCYF student portal

Abusive Head Trauma certificate through the DCYF student portal

Recognizing, Reporting, Child Abuse and Neglect certificate through the DCYF student portal

Be on-site for the daily operation of the early learning program fifty percent or more of weekly operating hours up to forty hours per week, or designate a person with the qualifications of an assistant director, program supervisor, or equivalent. A center director may act as a substitute teacher if acting as a substitute does not interfere with management or supervisory responsibilities;

Comply with foundational quality standards;

Maintain curriculum philosophy, communicate the philosophy to all early learning program staff and parents, and train staff to ensure the philosophy serves all children in the early learning program (or designate a program supervisor with this responsibility);

Have knowledge of community resources available to families, including resources for children with special needs and be able to share these resources with families;

Oversee professional development plans for early learning program staff including providing support to staff for creating and maintaining staff records;

Set educational goals with staff and locate or coordinate state-approved training opportunities for staff;

Observe and mentor staff.
