The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is currently seeking a Student Web Developer to join their team of professionals. This professional will be responsible for front-end website management and for creating and posting social media content. This position requires a basic programming skill level, in web programming languages like PHP, HTML5 and CSS3, and a sense of web design aesthetics, including element arrangements, and the use of design tools such as Photoshop and Canva. The ideal candidate will have WordPress experience and an understanding of industry trends. A knowledge of CRMs is a plus.Duties to include:

Working with end-users to create new WordPress websites.Maintaining existing WordPress websites, this includes editing content, applying, or updating themes.Designing and implementing new features and functionalities with a range of plugins/tools that fit needs of users.Create and post content for social media channels.Taking direction from their supervisor and/or project coordinator on various projects with strong attention to detail and time management skills.Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Minimum Qualifications

At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment.Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5 and CSS3.Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.Experience designing and developing responsive design websites with WordPress CMS.Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.Experience with tools such as Photoshop and CANVA and other image generation tools.Ability to stay current with development in web technologies and social media trends.Current Undergraduate Students enrolled at FIU.Students who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.Must be US citizen.Job Category
