Position Summary

Southeast Missouri State University is seeking a vice president for Finance and Administration (VPFA) to serve as its chief business officer. The VPFA will play a leadership role in maintaining and enhancing the University’s financial condition while focusing available resources on implementing the mission and strategy of the University. The position will be part of an organizational culture committed to fiscal responsibility and shared governance.

Required Qualifications

The University is seeking a candidate who embodies a personal commitment to the mission of the University, with demonstrated expertise in financial planning and budgeting, preferably complemented by audit or treasury experience. The new Vice President will have a proven track record of success in strategic planning, problem-solving, and proactive thinking. Senior-level management experience, preferably within a complex institution of higher education or similar mission-driven organization, is essential. The role requires demonstrated leadership abilities in staff development and maintaining strong professional relationships. Proficiency in risk management, compliance, contract management, and outsourcing is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, along with a demonstrated dedication to fostering a collegial work environment.
