DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY:

The St. Charles Heart & Lung Specialists clinic contains the subspecialties of Non-invasive Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Structural Heart. Together, these specialists deliver a complete patient centered program of care for patients with cardiac conditions.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The SCMG Electrophysiologist is responsible for providing Cardiology services in the inpatient and outpatient setting. This includes evaluation & management services, interpretation of cardiac diagnostic studies, implanted device interrogation and electrophysiology procedures including device implants and cardiac ablations.

Work schedule:

Physician will work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a minimum of 36 hours patient contact time.

4 days per week.

Outpatient clinic: Patient clinic hours between 8am - 5:00 pm, with a minimum of 12 appointment slots daily.

Electrophysiology lab: Procedural care days start at 7:30 am until scheduled and inpatient add on cases are completed.

Call expectation:

EP only call

EP service call rotation: 26 additional weekday workdays lab/clinic.

Work location:

Physician’s inpatient work location is St. Charles Bend Hospital with clinic in the Bend Heart & Lung Center plus any agreed upon outreach clinic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Clinical Expectations:

Examines, diagnoses, and provides treatments for cardiac disease processes.

Performs interpretation of electrocardiograms and cardiac monitors.

Performs electrophysiology procedures including cardiac ablation and device implants.

Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and imaging procedures.

Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, and staff.

EDUCATION

Required:

Graduation from an accredited medical school.

Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Cardiology.

Successful completion of a fellowship in Electrophysiology.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Required:

Oregon license as MD/DO

Board certified or eligible in Electrophysiology.

Current ACLS certification required.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Experienced in hospital and outpatient practice environments providing care in Cardiology.

GENERAL

Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population.

Strong team working and collaborative skills.
