Must be an active licensed RN in the state of Vermont.Elderwood at Burlington Benefits:8 & 12 Hour shifts across day, evening & overnight opportunities for Full Time, Part Time & Per Diem Statuses.Shift DifferentialsTuition Assistance Program for nursing aspirationsFerry ReimbursementFree UniformsFull suite of health benefitsAssistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Position Overview:To assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director, and/or Director of Nursing, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.Responsibilities:Recommend to Director of Nursing written materials that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the residents.Assume duties of the Director of Nursing in his/her absence under the direction of the Administrator.Assist the resident and Social Services in planning the nursing services portion of the resident discharge plan.Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.Recruit, interview, select, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel, delegating as necessary.Ensure adequate 24-hour nursing coverage in the facility.Ensure that all nursing assistants are enrolled in or have graduated from an approved nursing assistant training program.Supervise all admissions and readmissions for eligibility of Medicare Skilled services regulations.Make daily rounds of the nursing department to ensure that all nursing personnel are performing their work assignment in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.Provide residents with a comfortable, clean, orderly, and safe environment.Qualifications:Must possess, as a minimum, a degree in Nursing from an accredited school. Must be an active licensed RN in the state of Vermont.Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license to practice in the state.Working knowledge of the needs of geriatric complex care requiring long-term care.Must have, as a minimum, 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.Previous long-term care experience is desirable.EOE Statement:WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
