Job Summary:
Coordinates and directs multidisciplinary activities for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsible for direction and evaluation of clinical practice to ensure safe, efficient, patient care.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Pre-op, Operating Rooms, PACU and Sterile Processing.
Management of staff hiring, disciplinary matters, orientation, and training including onboarding and performance evaluation.
Compliance with government regulatory agencies (CMS, IDPH, CDC, OSHA etc.) and accrediting bodies (Joint Commission). This includes, but is not limited to infection control, environment of care and emergency preparedness.
Oversee environmental, safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Manage the integration of new physicians or providers into the ASC.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, promoting a positive image of Palos Hills Surgery Center.
Skills:
3-5 years experience in surgical services with ambulatory surgery experience preferred.
3-5 years experience with orthopaedic, podiatric and pain management surgery.
Experience with Joint Commission or other accrediting body surveys a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Practice Management (PM) software programs.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently, multitask, motivate, and educate.
Education:
Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare or Business Administration.
Performance Expectations:
Achieve operational efficiency and financial performance goals.
Maintain high standards of patient care and employee morale.
