Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. As the DON, you will oversee all aspects of nursing operations, including staffing, training, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with state and federal regulations and industry best practices.
Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and retention of nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient care needs.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to nursing staff to support professional growth and development.
Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery systems to identify opportunities for improvement and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed.
Manage the nursing department budget, including forecasting staffing needs, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including licensure, accreditation, and certification standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN); certification as a Nurse Executive (NE-BC) or Nursing Administration (CNML) preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in nursing practice standards and patient care delivery systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
