The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a
Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist
to join our Finance and Accounting division. In this role, you will be responsible for managing collections and processing payments. Additional responsibilities include:
Collections/Cash
Perform accurate and timely application of all payments – lockbox, ACH, live checks, and credit cards
Process adjustments and refund check requests
Handle confidential information appropriately
Handle collection on all outstanding accounts receivable balances
Respond to internal and external requests related to accounts receivable balances and invoices
Resolve customer discrepancies and short payments
Research returned mail and work with team to update
Support
Provide quality, professional customer service to all internal and external customers
Assist in sending out statements and setting up customer bill to’s
Coordinate with Accounts Receivable team to resolve customer payment issues
Maintain and update process documentation
Cross-train within department
Team Relationships
Work with a variety of internal teams to help maintain an open, effective relationship with internal and external clients.
What we would like to see from you:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
Associate degree (AA) in Business or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
2-4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable with emphasis on cash and collections preferred.
Knowledge of automated accounting and construction management software preferred.
Construction industry experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
Strong time management and prioritization skills required.
Self-motivated; deadline-oriented with strong attention to detail required.
Professional, positive and friendly attitude at all times required.
