The successful candidate will be responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests and is responsible for coordinating and managing the lower-level inspectors. They will also apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulationsPerforms routine tests on concrete, soils and other materialsMeasure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codesCoordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standardsAssign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the projectWork on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issuesGathers and maintains record documentsMakes field notes and computationsInteract with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiriesNonessential Functions and Responsibilities

Engineering or Engineering Technology degreeSenior Engineer Intern classification requires an EI certificateOne (1) year of Construction Inspection Experience (CEI) experience in construction of roadway or bridge structuresClient requested certificationsActive driver's licenseExperience Preferred

Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situationsAbility to act in an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge roleQualifications / Certifications

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed.
