Position InformationRutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence-based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school.Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year.Posting SummaryRutgers The State University is seeking a Care Coordination Specialist II (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Care Coor Specialist) in the Medical Services of Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare.The Care Coordination Specialist II (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Care Coordination Specialist) functions as the key member of the clinical team involved in outreach, screening of patients, care coordination, and administration of TMS procedures.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Provides advanced-level consultative services for UBHC in TMS practice and administration.Ensures implementation and refinement of TMS business plan.Promotes effective working relationships and works as part of the multidisciplinary team, inter and intra-departmentally to facilitate program goals and objectives.Collaborates and coordinates with TMS team and referring physicians.Prepares all required documentation to meet all clinical and regulatory requirements.Ensures that appropriate consents are obtained to protect confidentiality and support the rights of the individual served in the process of data gathering as determined by regulations and policies.Develops TMS policies and procedures.Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in a mental health field, health care field, or related discipline, plus four (4) years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree in a mental health field, health care field, or related discipline, plus two (2) years of relevant experience.Two (2) years of experience with electromagnetic brain stimulation required.Certifications/LicensesBLS/CPR required.All clinical licensing required by discipline.Valid driver's license.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesOutstanding human relations, communication, and computer skills are required.Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of prior authorizations preferred.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Standing, sitting, walking, talking, or hearing.Ability to speak clearly and write proficiently.Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.May be exposed to agitated patients.Can expect to lift up to 25 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Subject to unpredictable situations and both medical and psychiatric crises.Possible exposure to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors.Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens that require use of personal protective equipment.Special ConditionsMay be required to occasionally work evenings and weekends to attend local community events.Pre-employment ScreeningsAll offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.Immunization RequirementsUnder Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
