We strive to earn and maintain our clients and the public's trust by constantly adhering to the highest ethical standards and making a positive impact on the communities we serve.Overview of the RoleThe Business Risk and Control Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their job and the business. This role supports the Services Technology team and requires developed communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince others. The position has a significant impact through complex deliverables and provides advice related to the technology or operations of the business.Responsibilities:Contribute to governance and facilitate the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA), including the assessment and approval of risk associated with business changes.Support teams in the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the Control Framework implementation, including Risk Control Policy and Control Inventory.Assist in detailed analysis of issue root causes, partnering with control and process owners to recommend holistic corrective actions and improvements.Monitor control breaches and disseminate learnings across business units for process improvement.Support review and challenge processes on effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks.Help ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to execution of a process.Assist in monitoring adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after process execution.Support operational and compliance risk management in accordance with established policy requirements.Assist in identifying, assessing, escalating, and managing risk exposures across categories.Support the process to identify, assess, record, and respond to operational and compliance risk events.Ensure adequate governance and training are in place for managing risk profiles.Contribute to understanding and controlling risks associated with new activities and business changes.Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for capital requirements.Coordinate risk and control responsibilities and ensure accountabilities are embedded within FLUs.Support standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements for risk management.Apply knowledge of the business to identify and implement control points and processes.Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Qualifications:6-10 years of experience.Expertise in MS Excel.5+ years of experience in financial services.Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.Effective organizational influencing skills.Experience in applications technology risk management preferred.Demonstrated ability to lead global team efforts.Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.Education:Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.Certifications in Risk Management or relevant trainings preferred.Job Family Group:
