Cardiology Heart Failure/Electrophysiology

APP FTEs, coordinating workflow to provide the most efficient, effective, safe, and comprehensive patient care, and indirectly supporting other MH Cardiology APPs for recruitment and training. Resource to the Northern APPs and practice director. Provides medical care in accordance with established standards and practices as defined by MaineHealth Maine Medical Center, the State of Maine, and the Maine State Board of Nursing.We are a growing, integrated practice of over 65 cardiologists that offers its patients outstanding cardiology services with the highest level of care. Our cardiologists are Board Certified and trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the heart and circulatory system. We are closely tied to the nationally recognized cardiac services at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center and other regional hospitals & practices to build a coordinated network of care.Full Time – 40 hours week – Salaried, will require some weekendsAdditional responsibilities:Provides training and orientation for new employees in the department.Coordinates appropriate staffing levels and reviews and approves time cards for assigned staff.Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status including state of wellness, and compliance with care recommendations.Knowledge of diagnosing and treating medical problems and developing care plans.Skill in accurately evaluating patient problems in person or via phone and providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral.Performs other duties necessary to maintain the overall efficiency and continuity of the practice.Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.BSN required; MSN preferred.Five years of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience preferred.Current BLS certification.Knowledge of advanced practice, professional theory, practices and regulations related to evaluating and providing patient care, and professional ethics related to the delivery of provider care.Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status, including state of wellness and compliance with care recommendations.Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking, and other organizational matters.Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of NP/PA Practice.Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in a user-friendly manner.Strong computer skills with skill in using computerized health information management systems.Additional InformationMaineHealth
