JOBThe Director of Finance, under the general direction of the HealthWest Chief Financial Officer, implements and supervises accounting services for HealthWest. This employee assesses current HealthWest accounting and implements improvements where necessary. The Director of Finance assists auditors in examining HealthWest’s accounting and purchasing system, monitors the financial portion of grants administered through HealthWest, supervises a staff of professional technical and clerical employees, and performs related duties and responsibilities as required. This position is required to exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative; however, very critically important and sensitive determinations and decisions may require guidance and coordination at a higher level.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIESPossess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting.Have four (4) years of increasingly responsible work experience in the field of accounting, which shall have included increasingly responsible experience in a supervisory capacity; C.P.A credential preferred.Possess a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.Preferred but not RequiredCommunity Mental Health and/or Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic financial management and cost allocation experience preferred.Bilingual candidates are highly desired.Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.NOTE:
