GRADE : 18LOCATION OF POSITION : MDH St. Mary's County Health Department, 21580 Peabody Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650Main Purpose of Job : The main purpose of this full-time position will be to perform advanced work providing policy, organizational, and administrative support for the Maryland Commission on Public Health and the St. Mary’s County Health Department. Support will be provided through policy research, analysis, and evaluation; reports, testimony, briefs, and other communications material preparation and communications; and special initiative and partner coordination.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation : A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Experience : Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.Notes :Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field for one year of the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field for the required experience.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : The desired candidate should possess:Experience analyzing and/or developing policiesExperience coordinating activities to help strengthen public health infrastructure and local health department engagementExperience with writing, analytical, and computer skillsExperience producing materials to inform policy and program decisionsLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS : Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
