About the Job
We are looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to assist in our growing transportation business in West Virginia. Join a team of top transportation experts, participate in the production of traffic design, perform traffic studies, and develop and prepare project deliverables. This role also involves mentoring junior traffic staff and supporting a robust regional traffic group in a growing office that handles local projects and contributes to industry-leading projects nationwide.
Senior Traffic Engineer Responsibilities
Collaborate with industry leaders in transportation as part of a project team.
Develop signal, signing and striping, and/or traffic control plans.
Lead studies and capacity analysis projects.
Prepare traffic impact studies and traffic analysis for WVDOT, local agencies, and clients nationwide.
Enhance skills in complete traffic engineering and technical ability.
Mentor junior staff in traffic analysis and design.
Engage with the transportation industry to identify marketing opportunities and build strategic business development relationships.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
15+ years of related civil engineering experience.
PE Certification required; PTOE desired.
Experience with WVDOT preferred.
Project management experience.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HCS required.
Familiarity with traffic software such as MicroStation and/or CAD, Trans Modeler preferred.
Strong interest in transportation engineering with a motivation to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems.
Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to learn virtual collaboration tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.48 per year
Experience:
Civil engineering: 10 years (Preferred)
Traffic control: 7 years (Preferred)
WVDOT: 4 years (Preferred)
Develop signal, signing and striping: 6 years (Preferred)
Traffic Engineer: 8 years (Preferred)
