Sarasota County Government is seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager to assist with the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), a federally funded program to support the unmet needs of the County following Hurricane Ian. This position is funded by the CDBG-DR grant, or “Resilient SRQ” Program, which is anticipated to last approximately five to six years. This is a unique opportunity for an inquisitive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual to make a positive impact on the citizens of Sarasota County.

Project Development and OversiteOversee Resilient SRQ Infrastructure Program, including:

Overseeing infrastructure projects for Sarasota County and municipalities awarded CDBG-DR funds.

Intake and processing of applications from not-for-profit organizations for CDBG-DR funds for public facilities.

Drafting and monitoring subrecipient agreements.

Assisting with grant reporting requirements.

Creating, implementing, and updating Resilient SRQ Infrastructure Program policies and procedures ensuring compliance with CDBG-DR federal guidelines.

Assisting with hiring of Infrastructure Program staff and administering training for incoming staff members, contractors, and subrecipients.

Subrecipient Management and MonitoringLead meetings, negotiate terms and scopes, and develop subrecipient agreements to include compliance metrics and performance data collection activities. Responsibilities include:

Performing subrecipient monitoring efforts to assess compliance with subrecipient agreements.

Receiving, reviewing, and processing subrecipient progress reports and reimbursement requests.

Conducting onsite and desk monitoring of subrecipient program progress, purchasing policies, fiscal accounting, and issuing documented notices of findings and necessary corrective actions.

Grant Monitoring and ReportingMonitor fiscal and progress statuses of all grant-funded program activities, including:

Identifying areas of concern and improvements.

Reviewing financial reports and securing necessary documentation for federal reporting.

Communicating with external and internal stakeholders on reporting progress and deadlines.

Work HoursMonday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

About YouTo thrive in this position, you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Planning, Industrial/Engineering Technology, or a job-related field AND three (3) years of professional job-related experience.

Master’s degree preferred, counting for one year of experience.

OR – Seven (7) years of professional job-related experience in management of technical projects/programs and strategic planning may substitute for the required education.

Starting Pay Range$64,000.00- $77,646.40, based on your experience.
