Responsibilities

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60 years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents, and adults facing difficult challenges.Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a Director of Risk Management. This candidate will provide leadership for facility staff and administration specific to risk management. Coordinates action plans and corrective action by the department directors, in regard to licensing and accreditation surveys. Responsible for collection, classification, analysis, and dissemination of Risk Management data. Qualifications

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Displays written and verbal communication skills, and is able to follow written and oral instructions. Able to work collaboratively, diplomatically, and with integrity in problem identification, projects management, and problem-solving activities. Is knowledgeable of, can interpret, and put into practice pertinent federal, state, local regulations as well as TJC, CARF, CMS, and related standards. Displays knowledge of ethical principles and compliance issues in a healthcare setting. Is familiar with various types of documentation maintained in a healthcare setting. Demonstrates basic understanding of medical terminology. Can work independently and productively with little supervision. Can develop action plans, coordinate resources, and see tasks through to completion. Displays good organizational skills. Is knowledgeable about healthcare performance improvement activities. Able to type 40 words per minute and use computer software programs preferred.EDUCATION:

Registered Nurse or bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field. Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. Training in healthcare compliance activities, healthcare safety/risk management, hospital performance improvement activities, and hospital administration preferred.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current Driver’s License or State issued Id. Registered Nurse License or certification in healthcare related field.EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five years administrative or program-related experience in a hospital setting, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity. Experience must include TJC, TDSHS, TDFPS, CMS licensing/accreditation standards.PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift, carry, and lower up to 10 pounds. Able to use hands to grasp, type, write (fine motor skills). Able to see, speak, and hear so as to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and others. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential job functions including stressful situations and changing priorities. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to write or use computer for extended periods of time. Able to read and interpret standards. Regular and expected attendance.
