The Commercial Solutions Area, Chief Technology Office (CSA CTO) is a global team that works across customer-facing and product teams to onboard, strengthen and synthesize solutions for Enterprise commercial customer sales and delivery, and accelerate the availability of emerging and future growth solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Innovation Hub to contribute to and lead the prototyping, building, and augmentation of new and existing reusable solutions and technical assets that will be used in sales and delivery engagements. This engineer will also help lead the way for our organization with AI. They will shape the way we integrate capabilities of Microsoft first-party products including (but not limited to) Dynamics, Office, Azure, cutting-edge AI services (like Azure AI Services and Azure Open AI), and partner products that demonstrate the feasibility of these products and services in a single solution with our customers.

Responsibilities

Be committed to delivering the best experience for our customers.Collaborate with appropriate internal stakeholders or customers, to determine system requirements for delivering a set of features with the right overall design and functionality.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other software engineers in designing systems by using both code-first and low-code approaches to stitching Microsoft products with AI - maintaining an emphasis on quality, performance, simplicity, reusability, scalability, and maintainability.Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Able to adjust workload for competing priorities and ambiguous requirements and make decisions that ensure project success and timely delivery.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the reliability, efficiency, and performance of our systems.Proficient communication skills and a passion for delivering scalable solutions through a diverse team of engineers.Help create a diverse and inclusive culture where everyone can bring their full and authentic self and where we do our best work as a result.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ yearstechnical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.AI Experience: 3+ years of AI - Machine Learning, Search, Azure AI Services; Some exposure to Open AI.Experience in:full stack development, including any combination of the following middle tier/backend technologies: C#, .NET, data technologies (SQL/Cosmos DB/entity framework/etc.), web services, REST APIs, JSON, XML and UI development technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, TypeScript, Angular, React.code repositories including GitHub, Azure DevOps; understanding of branching and tagging strategies; understanding of CI/CD pipelines.Previous experience in a customer facing role presenting and gathering customer requirements in a workshop setting.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ yearstechnical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ yearstechnical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Experience with Azure Data and AI services.Knowledge of the AI open-source ecosystem.Knowledge of Azure AI Services (including Speech, Vision, Translation etc.), Azure AI Search, and Azure Open AI or equivalent compete experience.Knowledge of large language model (LLM) and Foundational models toolsets.Knowledge of Prompt Engineering, LLM fine turning, and chaining technology (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel).Experience with implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.Proficient analytical skills and an ability to understand abstract concepts.Effective troubleshooting and debugging skills.Ability to work with business and PM partners to align expectations and deliver results.Mentoring experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
