This includes financial planning, management of accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with federal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit accounting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESImplements financial policies and procedures as determined by up-line management for areas including, but not necessarily limited to, general ledger, financial statements, workpapers and supporting documentation, and accounts receivable.Reconciles all bank accounts for multiple entities.Prepares month end closing reconciliations of general ledger accounts.Prepares dynamic monthly financial statements, journal entries, and accruals for ACA and Divisions in accordance with GAAP.Participates in completing the month-end close checklist for all assigned action items to ensure that the association and divisions meet all financial timelines.Maintain and update policy and procedures for accounting.Provides support to the Controller with interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards.Maintains appropriate internal control safeguards over accounting functions.Provides support to department managers, administration, and divisions in the preparation, understanding and use of financial information.Assesses the financial and operational feasibility of current and future projects, including special costing projects and suggestions around improvements to the current suite of products and services used by the organization.Analyzes all financial results and summarizes findings with recommendations when appropriate.Supervises staff as assigned.Manages all fiduciary accountability issues including external audits, IRS reports, dues payments, investment portfolio, final contribution reports, gifts and bequests to the ACA Foundation, and other outside requests for financial information.Prepares schedules for annual tax filings, as requested.Ensures all tax returns, payroll filings, corporation filings and sales tax filings are made in a timely and accurate manner.Ensures the Association is in compliance with all contracts, agreements, federal and state regulations, and laws.Reviews payroll and provides backup support to payroll associate.Works directly with all internal systems (Great Plains, Sage Intacct, Pn3, Bill, Paylocity etc.).Assists in preparing forecasts and budgets for ACA and all divisions, branches and regions, as requested.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field is required; CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.5+ years of full-cycle accounting required and GAAP principles and practices.Demonstrated prior experience with non-profit accounting practices.Solid experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and accounting for investments.Experience in an entity with multiple subsidiaries is desired.Proficiency in managing financial resources in keeping with budget objectives.Outstanding analytic, organization and problem-solving skills for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills, including the ability to plan and implement in a fast-paced environment.Preferred software: Great Plains, Sage Intacct, automated billing software.Demonstrated experience with full range of payroll-related activities.Technology-savvy with experience in a variety of accounting, reporting and business operation software and systems. Preferred software(s): Great Plains, Sage Intacct, bill.com, PN3.Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Association Management software is desired.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong team player with superior team-building, team-management and team-empowering skills.A creative problem solver with demonstrated critical thinking skills, who can be flexible and bring solutions in limited time frames.Location & Flexibility:
